Just wanting to hear everyones opinions and put out my own about swine flu.

Well world wide there are little more than 2,000 confirmed cases of swine flue and yet no one with adequate medicle care has died. Why is everyone in such a panic about it.

My parents are both doctors and say that everyone is making a big deal of something small, its just a seasonal flu.

At the moment the government is shutting down schools with students effected this is so stupid in my opinion, just let it pass through. Keep sick children at home and use common sense. It's not like its Bird flue, or Horse flu which can kill.

The only way that swine flu has killed so far, is with patients having a previous sickness that has left them weakend, or a baby.

It's just something new, and like everything everyone is worried about it because its new.

If people are being treated for it and it's working there really isn't any reason to be afraid of it.

I can understand the media making a big deal of it because, well they make big deals out of everything, but I don't understand why they would close school's down, etc...

today its been conforemed someone in our school has swine flu, but our schools not rlly like "OMFG" and we still have to go to school( aww)

It really its that big a deal. Doctors are worried that come winter then an outbreak will occur, it's only a possibility but its just a concern that the possibility may come true.

A regular person died in the US. Wasn't a baby.

This was a constant topic in my biology class. My teacher did some research and it seems like a regular healthy human being like most of us would not be killed by this. It is just like the regular flu to us.

It's retarded to eat up anything the media says.

the regular flu kills THOUSANDS more and is FAR more deadly than swine flu.

It's the media and the fact it was unknown that scares everyone.

Theres only 1 case of swine flu where i live so its all good. But i heard on the news that there were over 300 in victoria. which is a bit bad seen as the doctors said they expect some deaths.

I completely forgot about the swine flu. It was a media hot-topic for a few weeks, and then just disappeared. And the extensive media coverage was the reason for all of the panic.
