[Bitcoins] Journey to 1 BTC. [Bitcoins]
Let me preface this thread by noting to Mods: I'm not sure if this is the right place for this thread, I would appreciate moving it to the proper location if this is not the correct subsection.

Welcome to my thread! This is a progress log describing my quest to obtain 1 Bitcoin.
First off, if you are not familiar with Bitcoins, it would be advantageous to familizarize yourself with this phenomenon, because it is revolutionary and intriguing. A brief overview of Bitcoins: its essentially a virtual currency that is minted every 10 or so minutes and is done so by awarding BTC (Bitcoins) to a computer that correctly guesses the answer to a complicated puzzle. Because the currency transfers quickly and exists in finite quantities, Bitcoins are appealing and can be used for many types of transactions.
Anyway, this summer I would like to garner at least 1 Bitcoin. In order to generate coins I've been running my computer on a mining pool called BitCoinPlus.
Unfortunately, the rate at which I receive Bitcoins is connected to my computer's processing power/internet ability; on my old laptop, my rate is approximately 500,000 tries per second (many computers can achieve 1,000,000 tries per second, quite easily).
Anyway, everytime the BitcoinPlus mining pool receives the 50 BTC mintage, it distributes 0.00008549 to each contributing member. Naturally, at that rate, it will take a long while to reach 1.00 BTC on my own!
Therefore I will post the following link, which will permit anyone interested in contributing to my endeavor to assist me in generating BTC. If you help me get a payout, you effectively donate approximately 10% of a penny to my cause!
If you find yourself idling your computer or wishing to help me out, please click this link and hit "generate:"
http://www.bitcoinplus.com/generate?for=1253742
This is NOT a begging thread!
It simply is not. I will be updating this thread every few days with pictures and progress; I figured this would be a fun progress thread for people to follow this summer. I have included ways for supporters to contribute to my cause, but this is by no means obligatory.
While I don't expect anyone to, if any desire to contribute more directly to my campaign by donating to my cause, please use the following Bitcoin Wallet Address for direct donations:

My main desktop gets 47 Mil.
(Amd phenom II X4 965 @ 3.4 ghz - and HIS Ati radeon hd 4670)
My cheap desktop gets 15 mil
(amd sempron 270 With core unlocked and OC to 3.5 GHZ - asus Ati Radeon HD 5500 )
My old desktop gets 8 mil
(Amd athlon 64 X2 @ 2.8 ghz - gigabyte ati radeon 4550)
None of these rigs were designed for mining though, they were designed for other stuff
A rig designed for mining would be about $250 and get ~260 Mil, according to the bitcoin wiki.
The same computers used for bitcoinplus get
2 mil
1 mil
.5 mil
So, yea.

Thanks Kerr.
I'm also willing to pay RSGP for Bitcoin, so feel free to pm me about that.
Need more support it seems.

Re: [Bitcoins] Journey to 1 BTC. [Bitcoins]
I've looked into mining BTC, but I've calculated that (for me) it's more profitable per hour for me to bot RSGP. If I was really trying to get some BTC, it would be faster to farm gold, sell it, then buy BTC than to actually mine the BTC.
Just something to think about
