Default Bitcoin Miner

I am unsure of where to put this so I guess here is as good a place as any.

I want to start a Bitcoin miner. Just to see how it goes. Can anyone assist me in this? I read all kinds of stuff but I have no clue what I am doing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if the mods feel this is in the wrong section, go ahead and move.

I've got a few links here that will help you get started. I suggest taking a few hours(if not days) and actually read up on the process before getting started. Don't jump into it too quickly.

You just need a modern (made within the last 2 years) video card.

My miner won't connect as of now, however I will try it on the work connection this evening and I should have better luck. Thanks n4n0 for the links, makes it much easier to understand

Appreciate the links. From what Sythe said though, I am definitely going to have to get a graphics card since I am running onboard graphics atm.

It seems like an interesting theory, but I need a step by step guide on how to use it. :P Haha. Too many steps to set this up from what it seems like.

Don't even bother mining anymore. The only people who produce anything now have servers with loads of computing power behind them.

The only thing that matters for bitcoin mining is a powerful GPU. The rest of the system can be shit.

Might try mining soon, I got an ATI HD 6850, not sure how good it is for mining.
