Default Buying Vouches.

Based on recent threads I have seen, I think giving vouches to buyer's should be against the rules unless the seller goes first.

My argument.

1. If someone buys an item and get's a vouch for it, it makes them seem trustworthy, when in fact, they didn't legitly earn the vouch. They bought an item.

2. I recently saw a thread of some random saying "Buying all runescape accounts under $5 dollars, I'm trying to get some vouches." I think it is ridiculous that this guy get's vouches for buying items for cheap prices.

3. It is pointless! Giving a vouch to someone who buys items is stupid. Yes, they may be a legitimate buyer, but we could give these types of "vouches" a different name.

Maybe we could call them "Recs" as in, Recomendations as a legit buyer.

I just think this will stop people who buy alot of items from scamming unsuspecting victims because they think, "Look, he has 10 vouches, he must be legit." But all his vouches come from buying items...

Anyone agree?

I agree, I had some people ask for vouches when I sold them something. It's really stupid.

No. You can give "vouches" for basically anything you want. It's up to you to decide whether someone is trusted or not. Look at all their vouches, and if they're all for buying accounts, then don't trade with him. Changing a system that's been in place for so long would be too much of a hassle. No.

I think it would be hard to put this rule into effect...due to the fact that a lot of people's vouch threads are filled with these along with other vouches...and the time for everyone to fix all of this is a lot.

But it's a good concept.

And for some reason I thought of eBay's feedback when I saw this thread...because you can get feedback for buying stuff off of eBay.

EDIT: Also, Harped's reasoning is good too.

Vouches can be given for any reason (except for GFX). A trade is not required for a vouch to be given, and therefore, such a restriction would be meaningless.

Most vouches do, and should, state the trade amount and who went first. If you're smart, you'll disregard vouches that don't. Moreover, a vouch for someone who went first still has value, in that it shows they are at least a serious buyer.
