Re: Private Arbitration at sythe.org
This is certainly an interesting idea, but at first glace it seems that arbiter corruption would be tough to keep in check unless each individual arbitration is checked by a staff member, and, if every arbitration is checked, it becomes superfluous.

I think in that case, EVERYTHING would have to be kept public, and open for discussion. Sort of a rebuttle type thing. I like the idea Sythe.

In my opinion, we already have this system implemented, just without all the frills. Mods already do this in the Report a Scammer section, correct?
As others have said, most scammers are there to scam and block all contact with the victim; they will not likely go into a case they know they will lose, why would they bother trying and having to pay?

posted my thoughts. I dont really know about all that. Not enough staff members, and I believe that some will play favorites if they find one of the parties has done something to them personally in the past (i.e. rant about them in the feedback section.)

Re: Private Arbitration at sythe.org
a little too much power to the middleman and its indirect, I know it does help to have the arbiter review the case and make the decision but its ultimately the staff that has to make the final decision. Conclusively it makes their dispute take longer and I could see problems with middlemen overseeing the dispute i.e. (friends, bribes, etc.)

This sounds an awful lot like the never-ending cycle of new legislation in the US. It could just turn into a lot of ineffective hassle.

Re: Private Arbitration at sythe.org
Yeah, I mean for you could only do it for very serious cases, in private. or opposite way around so the people get a say in serious cases. Just very odd for some reason
