Hello,

I was thinking about adding a small warning when you register to Sythe.org to remind users once they pick a username then they have to stick to it no matter what. I have seen a few threads about people asking for a name change or a perk to have your name change because they picked a bad username and now want a name change. Here is a edit of what it could look like if it was added, please see the picture.

As you can see it doesn't take much to change it and will make people think more wisely when picking a name for their Sythe.org account. Please tell me what you think about this and looking forward to what you have to say about it.

Are name changes even allowed?

Maybe they should implement a name changing feature but leaves a history of all the name changes.

Example :

Almond Joy[July 2012]
Bob[August 2011]
Doy[january 2008]
Lol [April 2005]
The Man[December 2002]
YOYOYOYOYO[March 2001]

So many people have asked this, Sythe.org will not be letting people change their names. Only Staff are allowed, to make their names look more professional.

Considering this isn't technically true.....

I thought only you have to stick to your username, and only staff are allowed to change if needed.

That's a technicality. Anyone who makes it to staff will know of the professionalism rule, etc.

The average Sythe user will never gain the staff rank, so it is best to warn the majority of the users.

You are allowed to make a new account but the new account is not allowed to interact with the previous one ( 99% sure of this as i hd asked a mod about this)

Yes, I believe this is allowed. But the point is you can't have all your vouches you made and all the trust you built up.

i agree with this and support the topic. Someone might come online and actualy be here to make a ton of money and not planing on ever getting banned but they make a stupid name, regardless they won't be able to change there name to make them look better in the sales part of the whole picture. Putting this into sythe would be a good idea imo.

I would support this. I see no harm with this being implemented. Wouldn't be too hard to do it anyways.

Something like - "Please choose your username wisely, as they cannot be edited or changed after registration" would be fine. I support this, but people will still ask the question from time to time.

People could ask, but then staff could just say please refer back to the sign up process and take note of the warning you was given.

They could, but not everyone is going to remember a message on signing up. My sign up was almost 2 years ago now, I can hardly remember anything back then when signing up. I'm not saying your suggestion shouldn't be implemented, I'm saying there's always going to be a few people asking the question anyways. This message may reduce the number of those people, hopefully.

Easy to implement, would cut down on all the spam asking to change name too.

The name change idea with the time of name change is impractical. Keeping the last name change is easy enough, but keeping a record of them would be difficult SQL wise without having lots of useless space on the user table
