Sythe's scammer database / Databases updating
If scammer ( X) get banned on Sythe.org, he'll be quite pity and probably continue scamming people. Okay, X's alt accounts were pawned, but why not to rip off people on other forums, sites, in other games? It's easy and if that will happen' again, X will simply leave it and join another.
I've got an idea to make scammer's life harder: - Sythe.org's own scammers database with search feature. Including
- Sythe.org profile
- Steam Profile
- Email
- Skype
- ICQ
- Other
- Steamrep.com is a most popular scammer checking service. It offers to report STEAM PROFILE / PAYPAL EMAIL.
If scammers of Sythe.org were getting in SteamRep.com/ (other anti-scammer site) scammer list, it will help a lot to starting traders that don't use Sythe.org.

That's necessary and really helpful. I've got this idea from another forum.

Re: Sythe's scammer database / Databases updating
If a database were made, it would be over-flood and not to mention hard to keep maintaining as there are dozens of scammers who get banned everyday. Why not use Google or other service engines?

Re: Sythe's scammer database / Databases updating
Nearly impossible.
And Sythe is a huge site with thousands of members.
The amount of scammers?
Dang. Would be hard to be tracked.
And if they make new info? :/

Re: Sythe's scammer database / Databases updating
we pretty much have that, it's called google and archives threads, simply search X name in google search along with sythe.org, search x emai laddress and you can find various places his/her email was posted, etc etc, it's what i do every time before i preform a trade, and after a lil over a year on sythe.org i have yet to be scammed.

^This, but it's not the best way.
I simply blame staff for the amount of scammers. They don't enforce the sticky rules enough and don't moderate their sections correctly. There's at least 10 moderators in one sub forums and it's rare to see one there moderating.
I support this fully.

Wohow, now that is a very bad comment.
Don't go so harsh on the moderators, and do you know why?
1. They spend loads of time in front of the scenes AND behind the scenes to make this forum better
2. They don't get paid, not even a penny.
Now, would you work as hard as they do for free? I'm pretty sure the answer is no. Don't go hate on people while you barely know what they do.
No support, getting scammed is you're own falt, partially atleast.
Use Google, Sythe's search function and common sense and you will be just fine.

If you get scammed, more than 95% of the time it is your own fault because there are tons of measures to be taken to prevent scamming. It isn't the moderators fault. They are not here to hold your hand every step of the way, and if someone is going to scam it doesn't matter if stickies are enforced or not the average leecher is fairly oblivious to trading practices so they'll just scoop in and scam. I see it happen numerous times daily and there is no prevention.
Now, to the suggestion. Using an all volunteer staff and already very limited resources it would be nearly impossible to maintain. Not to mention the number of bans that happen daily, I can't remember the last estimate but it was 60+. The marginal benefits do not outweigh the opportunity cost.

I'm not saying they are doing nothing, but they are lacking activity in sub forums in which they are assigned moderation in. It would be nice for this to be implemented, to save them some time. Didn't mean to bad mouth anyone, it's being assertive. It's my nature :/

Hmm than its another thing questioning methods etc is always good.
However I'm afraid it would only ask them more work to use and especially to implement!
But I'm sure some moderator will enlighten us on this

Re: Sythe's scammer database / Databases updating
would be basically impossible to maintain with the ammount of scammers flooding this site everyday and getting banned. would be nice but honestly getting scammed could easily be prevented just by skimming through the stickies and people asking for a pm to prevent imposters.

We've tried something like this before but people didn't bother to submit or check the database before a trade.

Information is far too easy to change so it becomes pointless.
