Graphics of the Month contests, Temp rank, Feedback used (Updated thread)

So last time i made a thread about signatures of the week/month.

BUT since all the great feedback i'm remaking this so we get a good view on how it would go.

So. First of all thanks to all people i decided to suggest Gfx of the month. Within a certain theme.
Reason being not everyone may be as good in signatures but might be in idk making fonts or backgrounds,logos etc...
You HAVE to provide the psd as proof you made it.


As for the price we could make a Temporary rank (Gfx of the month rank)
Wich will be passed from winner to winner.

And maybe a temp price such as a 5$ donation rank
(or just adding towords their next donation for example they have donated 5$ it would go to 10$ so they have less to donate to rank up)



I'd like to thank Wulfspade1,Zerkerfist and Jack Goff for all the wonderfull feedback and ideas.

I support this, but I don't like the idea with the donation ranks, you should only get them when you donate.

Just find sponors for a pot then, that would suit way better then handing out donation ranks to people who never actually donated.
And if they win the pot, they could decide to give back to Sythe, and get a rank.

I'm happy for you to set up a graphics competition and if there's a decent amount of entries, we'll give the winner the Competition Winner rank. We did have a sig of the week/sig of the month competition going for a long time but it was stopped due to lack of interest.

Having a cash prize pot would be a fantastic idea if you can find a few people to throw in a donation to the cause! Naturally, I'd want a staff member to be in charge of any prizes.

A cash prize pot is always a good idea if you want to gain interest in the competition and increase the amount of entries. People love nothing more than winning some free money

I think it should be something challenging if we do have one. Everyone here does 3D text and it has become boring. We need to push people outside of their comfort zone and make people do something new.

If you could get some sponors for a pot, plus a fun rank passing from winner to winner alot more people would join the competition, like said above.

If you could work this out with a staff member, then I support it for 100%.

I really hope to see more interest in this section from the community. I believe the forums is boasting with talent, and competitions like these are perfect for getting it out there.

This sounds pretty good. I'd expect you won't get lots of participants but perhaps if you tried to expand beyond tags or 3d text, such as fonts or photography that might get people to try some new things.

It's a good idea, but you'll have to remember that people have to donate RSGP/money, the site just can't give away free donator ranks. I do like the idea of a rank passing on from a winner to a winner, though.

I am getting into photography, but it would have to be monthly because I am using 35mm. hah
