So like put up a theme, and let all submissions get a week or something to gain votes. winner gets competetion winner rank or something? idk just thinking

I think we had something like this a year or so back, it would be interesting to see it start back up again. I don't know why it was stopped. Although, I don't think the rank should be put in, especially if it's a week or month. Support.

Are you talking about a contest based on who has the best/coolest signature, or a GFX contest about who can make the best/coolest signature?

If you are suggesting the former, it would be interesting, but most people don't change their signatures that often or make their own, so it may be hard to actually get a lot of submissions and have the contest gain popularity.

The other issue is that the majority of signatures are created and purchased from graphics artists in the GFX section. I think it would be more fair to credit the actual artist who made the signature, rather than the person who paid for it and is using it, if people thought the signature was really cool and voted for it.

If you were suggesting the latter, that would be a good contest for the GFX section. There may even be something like it already, I'm not sure (I don't go in there all too often). This would be a cool way to let the GFX artists battle it out in a community-wide contest, and showcase their skills. Not everybody is actually able to make decent graphics themselves though, and so it may be hard to do this as a community wide contest because only the artists could really participate. So therefore, it would probably be better off just staying within the GFX section.

I think there used to be sotw's a while back, but eventually they died off due to lack of activity.

We used to have them, and received about 3 entries per week. Sorry but there isn't enough interest here to do it.

When I did them with Kinaesthic, they had a decent amount of entries, it was rather fun, and I think it helped the forum get more activity. But, we didn't do "Signature of the Week," we did "Signature of the Month," that way there is more time to get entries, and there isn't an overwhelming amount of competitions. We also gave away prizes to the winners of each designated contest. I wouldn't be against a SoTM, but I don't think SoTW competitions would induce much activity based on the time and quantity of competitions.

I think it would be a good idea but definitely not weekly, its too frequent for people to be making a new signature.

Those are only for official Sythe competitions, not graphics. Maybe there could be a graphics rank made though that was a temporary one that changed with each winner? If this happened, I'd say graphics competitions once each month would be a good idea.
