In the 'Runescape General' section I see two different kinds of threads:

-Threads that induce great conversation between many individuals on this forum.

-Threads that a general user makes to ask a simple one-sentence/one-word answer and leaves the thread to die.

Examples:

Threads that should be in a generic 'RS Q&A' subforum - http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1324813

I hope you guys agree with me. Good threads are constantly flooded out by threads that start with "YEAH SO HOW DO I GET 70 COOKING MOST EFFECTIVELY?"

I believe the section was made as just a general "post anything that pretains to RS" section. I think the quality of the post doesn't really matter, not in this case at least. If the user has a question, it's a proper place to ask, if they're looking for a discussion, they're also in the right place.

No support, I see no reason to split the section up, it works fine the way it is. Runescape questions are "general discussion" so I see no reason why it shouldn't remain a part of that section. Plus there would be countless amounts of threads in the wrong section, which would just make a lot of extra, and unnecessary work for the staff.

But the very last thread at the end of the first page was made 8-9 hours ago. That simply proves how many 'discussion worthy' threads are being flooded out by Q&A threads. Make a page-long post so many people can think and give a smart response? Well enjoy your ~10 responses, because the next day, it'll be flooded onto the 4th page by "WHERE'S CANIFIS I CANT FIND IT HELP GUYS".

This shouldn't be the case.

No need. All sections have threads that die, and you can't aviod it. Sectioning it more won't actually fix anything, and the homepage is large enough as it is.

I think Lucky's got a point. I mean, I can understand what you're saying, it would look a bit neater, but the RS General section handles all these questions perfectly, so I don't see the issue in fixing something which isn't broken.

If you see a thread that has been answered and all that's coming after it is spam posts saying the same answer, than report the thread and a moderator will happily pop around to close the thread.

Tbh if you have any queries RS General is the best place to ask questions since the majority of people on Sythe which play/played RS visit that section especially Kero which has vast knowledge about the game. Posting a thread there can generate lots of replies and keep a discussion going for days.

Denied, we've recently acquired the "Market Tools" section which accomplishes this.
