I say vouches, but alot of people have fake ones, you should watch out.

The Value is more important, Because it shows hes handled alot more money, and is less of a potential threat for the other guy who's handled less looks shady if hes doing a first time BIG trade or somehthing

it's a combination of both. I myself do only larger trades ($400,- average), other people have sold 2k pins. In this way I deem myself more trusted because each time anyone is going first to me there's more sense to scam.
To reply your statement I think both can you first if you deem each other trustworthy enough. Each other can decide when you deem a member trustworthy enough yourself, this shouldn't be a rule or so.

Value traded is far more important, as you see many new members doing free questing and skilling for vouches. When I see a vouch under 10m in value traded, I discount it immediately. The only vouches that matter to me are when a person has shown responsibility with a large amount of value in a trade.

balance between the 2, a person could have many small trades but they add up
whereas a person with very few large trades could be suspicious, ie fake vouches.

I feel that both is important. I also know that it's important to see when these vouches were given. If all of a person's vouches are from 5 months ago or something ridiculous like that, and they don't have any other current vouches, I would feel a bit uneasy. I also feel that it's important to see who is vouching for the trader.

What I look for is how much they've been trusted with.
To me, a vouch that says "Vouch for userX, went first to him selling 25m" is worth more than 5 vouches saying "Vouch for userX, I sold him 25m, he went first."

If you can combo both then you seem more legit, since 10m for 5 dollars isn't the same as 1b for 500 dollars, though many of these low vouches are good.
