That could possible be true, but I heard most moderators didn't know him. Besides, just because he has a popular shop in the market doesn't mean he's well known. I didn't know a lot of the "major" marketeers before someone mentioned them on IRC.

And that was just it. Before he was promoted, he had nothing at all to do with any of the staff members. He didn't even have any staff members on his MSN.

Pardon me, I was just trying to say that he wasn't some random member - he had actually done something on the website. My mistake.

Re: How are the Staff chosen and what is the Staff structure?
The point was that he wasn't well known within the community, and that it's not a "popularity contest".

We know that, I'm just saying how it isn't a popularity contest.

Re: How are the Staff chosen and what is the Staff structure?
Regardless of the fact that he's now banned, I remember Louis saying that he wasn't familiar with any of the mods when he got promoted, and same with Determinate.
Also, in recent promotions, I don't think Awesome Stranger was buddy buddy with any moderators either (Besides Former Global KerokeroCola, but he had no say in the promotion)

That is a great method of selection,One unique thing that i see in this blog is that no other blog give that detail of method of members selection but you did it.I appreciate that thing.

I miss Clashfan and Steph those were the good days of Sythe, specially with Shadow_Assn pretty much ruling of the sig part of the site Also Jansen, MittenZ and Nick (nuky ) can't forget UnKnown It's been so long, so much has changed.

Re: Sythe.Org Staff; How does it work?
I've added a small addition:
"There's no application or a specific way of joining staff. Your best bet is to remain mature, active, and involved in the community. We'll contact you if you're the right person for the job. Asking for a staff position isn't necessary. Be sure to keep you nose clean both on and off site as well. All staff and potential candidates undergo extensive background checks sometimes reaching into their lives off the web. "
