Hiya Guys, as my first action as one of the current OGV Leaders, Im going to open up applications since the team is lacking a few members, if you do not know what OGV is, it stands for 'Official Guide Verifiers', Users who have been trusted to Verify guides that users wish to sell on sythe.

Qualities we are looking for:

Fill that out and post it here. After a few days Myself and other Active OGV's will go through the applications and see what we think. For now we are looking for 3-4 OGVs to add to the team.

A few things to keep in mind:

-There will be NO RANK or SPECIAL permissions from being an OGV outside of access to the private forums for the section. It is just a chance to contribute more to the site and demonstrate some responsibility.

-You must be willing to abide by the process and rules for verifying; if you verify a guide that should not have been, you may be liable to refund the persons who purchased the faulty guide.

-Do not apply if you are not serious and/or willing to put in the work verifying guides frequently. We will change out OGVs as frequently as necessary if someone is not pulling their weight.

Why do you think you are fit for the position? I think I am fit for the position because I am very active on sythe, I am on for a good portion of the day. Also, I am a mature, honest person, and I know a large amount of info about runescape(Playing since 03). I am also on IRC for a few hours every day.

How active are you on Sythe?
I'm usually on around 5 hours a day, sometimes around 8. I currently have around 4.5 posts per day, and it's almost always rising. Would become even more active if I got the OMM rank I am going for, or if needed by the OGV team.

Yes, usually on sythe I'm just browsing the forums, I would look forward for something to do.

Why do you think you are fit for the position?
I think I would be a great addition to the OGV team because I am very active, and this would be something to help me make even more impact on the community. I have a completed OMM app, which helped me learn how to deal with a lot of different types of people in a mature way, and also give me a lot of knowledge in the marketplace. I have over 150 vouches with almost $10,000 handled, I am also a $50 donator. I have several runescape accounts, one which almost has a max cape. I will be able to test and verify probably 99% of the guides. I have played runescape for over 7 years, so I have a good understanding of the game. I also have a bit of a runescape background of Runescape glitching, so any guides that need to be verified, I will EASILY understand, especially if any guide involves glitching.

As I said, I post on Sythe multiple times every day, with high quality thought out posts. I know this is not a moderator position or anything, but I am a previous moderator of popular runescape forums (Zybez) which I feel helps demonstrate my character. I am a trustworthy person, I have many vouches (around 30+), and love being involved in the forums that I participate in. I have learned a lot from Sythe and would like the opportunity to be able to return the kindness.

Yes, I'm willing to verify any guide that comes my way. I have a lot of free time so this shouldn't be a problem.

I think I'm fit for this position because I possess a bunch of knowledge about Runescape, and a general idea on what should be verified or not.

I also enjoy reading through guides and looking at what they have to offer, and testing it so I can see if it actually works and if it is a well-known method or not.

I've played Runescape since '05 and I still play it to this day.

How active are you?

I am quite an active member on Sythe both post count wise and also the amount of time I spend on Sythe, which is usually around 3-5 hours a day on average

By applying to be part of the OGV team, I understand that i'll have to spend a fair bit of my time verifying guides. Seeing as though I spend around 3-5 hours on Sythe, I'll be more than willing to verify multiple guides a week. I know what I'm signing up for and I wouldn't mind spending my time verifying quite a few guides a week.
I'll make sure, when verifying guides, that I don't rush into a decision, I'll always take my time and do some research to ensure the guide hasn't been leaked elsewhere. Furthermore, I'll make sure to maintain professional, not just verifying guides because their mates of mine.

I'll be available to verify guides through the day, even if I'm not at my pc or laptop, I can just download the guide and read it, any time, any place.

Why do you think you are fit for the position?

I firmly believe that I am the best person for the job, if I thought otherwise, I wouldn't have applied. The reason why I'll make a great addition to the OGV team is due to the fact that I have superior runescape knowledge. I've been playing runescape for around 5 years now, gathering a heap of experience. I've also written a few of my own guides and have sold some, if not many, guides in the guides section, which not a lot of other people can say. I am also generally quite active in the guides section, looking at all the new threads which have been posted, and as you've noticed, reporting quite a few posts and guides which are against Sythe rules. I am a hard worker and I'll never take my job lightly. I feel I have a lot to offer to this OGV team. I think I work well with others, which is also another reason why I believe I should be chosen as an OGV because verifying guides is a team effort and you mist be able to communicate well with other peers, which I feel I can and do. I think of myself as quite a nice guy, I don't swear at other Sythe users, even if I want to, I don't, which I feel shows maturity and good restraint.

I am active in the runescape market. I am always browsing around the runescape market and I have accumulated 59 Vouches worth over $6800, nearly all of the Vouches coming from the runescape market. This shows that I am trustworthy, which is another quality which you are looking for. I have also been a middle man for a few trades, the biggest being a value of 250m. Me middlemanning a few trades means that other people can trust me, and will feel secure in using me as a middleman.

I also run a website for my dad, which I created myself in OSCommerce. I handle all sales on the site, so i would package them, send them out etc. Also, I handle all the emails, customer complaints etc. Although this has nothing to do with runescape or Sythe, it shows that I am responsible and that you can always rely on me, no matter what.

Another off Sythe activity that I did was voluntary work. I was doing a work experience placement for 2 weeks. The people who I worked with really liked my personality and work ethic and asked if I could do some extra work, I decided to do another two weeks there. I think work ethic and people liking you are two important assets to have, especially if I'm asked to verify multiple guides and interact with fellow OGV's

As you've noticed yourself Karl, I've been reporting a lot lately. Yes, some of the posts or threads which I reported were fine, but the majority of them weren't. The reason why I was reporting so many posts was to try and keep Sythe clean and to just try helping the community, which is why I am applying for the role of OGV. I want to help the community and give back to it. I have already learnt a few things from you whilst reporting posts, making me understand the rules clearer. I'm a fast learner which means I can grasp the guide verifying concept very quickly.

One last thing, I will take this job seriously, I've taken the application seriously and tried filling it out to the best of my ability. I'll take the job seriously and i'll put 100% into being an OGV. I understand the things I should keep in mind and agree with them.

I've been an Official Middleman since December 2010, meaning the trust with any amount of goods/money is not a problem. I've also played RuneScape for 6 years now and have a lot of knowledge. Why do you think you are fit for the position? I consider myself to be a trustworthy, honest, and responsible person. I'm easy to talk to and am there for anyone who needs it. I've also been playing runescape since 2003 and know it inside and out. My main character can meet some of the highest requirements for some guides allowing me to actually verify them.
