Paypal chargebacks; scam method.
I have notice reports of this scam coming up time and time again.
I sold an account and this happened to me, resulting in my PayPal balance being -£70.00.
Here's what happens:
You're selling virtually anything, whether it be an account, gold, services via Paypal.
The buyer then sends the cash as a gift with a note saying: "This is for virtual items i have already received and i promise not to chargeback, if i attempt to chargeback Paypal has the right to send the cash against my favour"
Wait a few days.... 'PAYMENT HELD - Unauthorised Transaction'
Basically people who seem legitimate and pay first can STILL charge back if they send the payment as a gift using a VPS; claiming to PayPal that they had been hacked. Obviously PayPal, being the dicks they are, give the scammer the cash back.
I am now -£70.00 and it doesn't help that it comes at a time where i'm having to get £850.00 to put a deposit down on an apartment. FML.

It's your problems... Not our. You need to think twice before to trade Sythe member who's selling things or whatever. If you knew it's highly risk then why would you want to trade for? What's for?

OP is just saying what they do, he's not saying its anyones problem but his own. and yeah theres no way you can really prevent it, they could pay using any method but if they are using a VPS or at somewhere like an airport for example paypal will always go with the buyer unless you actually have proof of sending them an item.

Don't trust anyone who isn't trusted is all I can say. If you use paypal go through player auctions especially if it's someone you don't trust.

I just trade reputable people. It does make earning a profit hard at times, but it's better than getting scammed. Also, use Player Auctions, I didn't want to bother with it for a long time, but it really takes 1 minute to make an account.

If using PayPal, just only accept MoneyPak.

MoneyPak only or accept payment for only very trusted people.
If you don't care about high fees, PA is your choice.

Never use PayPal. Most people chargeback, after a couple of days. To fix this, use PlayerAuctions as your preffered method. By using PlayerAuctions, it will prevent chargebacks.
If you still don't feel safe, use Western Union. Western Union cannot be chargebacked. I always use that for big amounts

PA/WU/MB should solve all your problems though the fees can be outrageous. Does the smurf method work Empty?

Re: Paypal chargebacks; scam method.
What these idiots do is they phish scam hack paypals and buy things with them, or they use their own paypals then they use a proxy to buy things then dispute. On powerbot I sold 140m and they charged back ): Paypal sucks, either us PA, or WU

That sucks dude. The smurf way DOES NOT work, you will lose money on both accounts.

Re: Paypal chargebacks; scam method.
I'm not sure if this works, but you could try getting the buyer to send the money to a "collection" account, which is not your real one, and then you send the money from that to your real account

Re: Paypal chargebacks; scam method.
Never use your main PayPal for trading. Always use another so if that gets a chargeback, you don't have to pay it. As long as you haven't linked any addresses or cards to it.
