Syte back-up plan?
Hey Sythe,
I had interesting thought last night, seeing as most people on here play, buy, sell and stuff on RuneScape. If Jagex ever closed RuneScape down, which I know is close to impossible but if it did happen would it possibly be the end of Sythe?
As most of the money donated to Sythe would be from buying and selling RSGP and items on here and only a small amount is from other reasons.
So, does Sythe have a back up plan or a Plan B if RuneScape is taken down?
Just an interesting thought.

Re: Syte back-up plan?
This is a highly unlikely scenario. If it does Sythe still has a raging community and I believe it would be able to adapt. I don't think there should ever be anything to worry about.

Re: Syte back-up plan?
I believe Sythe would still live on. The "Black Market" aspect of would decrease immensely, but a lot of the dedicated users (I know I fall into this category) would stick around just for the community purposes.

Re: Syte back-up plan?
I don't even play any games nor do I use the market, so I wouldn't be going anywhere. Highly unlikely scenario anyway, there's years left...

Na, I knew it was incredibly unlikely, I just wanted to see what might happen.

Re: Syte back-up plan?
There's other games other than RuneScape, therefore making the site still up. I doubt it'd be as active, but more games will come out.

Re: Syte back-up plan?
Also another note, if jagex were to ever end Runescape they would probably ditch it for a new game similar to Runescape. I would predict that most jagex customers would try to make the switch to this new game. Thus this new game could take place of the Runescape sections.

Re: Syte back-up plan?
The more likely scenario is that runescape becomes drastically unpopular. I hope Jagex makes a new game that people enjoy; the market would probably move to that game.

Re: Syte back-up plan?
The RuneScape community will undoubtedly move together towards a new game - I don't intend to leave sythe no matter what because I enjoy talking to other people about random stuff and its just a fun place to chill if I'm not going out with friends.

Re: Syte back-up plan?
I don't believe Jagex would get of Runescape yet.. there's quite a bit left to milk out of the RS cow

Re: Syte back-up plan?
Thanks for your points of view guys, so Sythe would go to World of Warcraft or something?

Re: Syte back-up plan?
It really depends on Sythe, he may just close up shop if Runescape closes.

"If Jagex ever closed RuneScape down, which I know is close to impossible"
You just answered your own question. We can sit here and ponder hypothetical questions, but they are just that - hypothetical. Of the things that can kill Sythe, I doubt it would be RuneScape going away.
