Why don't you just let the winner get the rank of "X Mill donator" (X being 50% of total lottery entries) plus the 50%. It adds incentive.

Can't the entrants and numbers they have be listed? I think it's more "biased" withholding them.

i.e
Entrant 1 - 1
Entrant 2 - 2-4
Entrant 3 - 5
Entrant 4 - 6-15

(It updates as people purchase tickets) etc

Aside from that, nice initiative and I will more than likely be entering.

I was thinking of this, but having a donor rank is often associated with having trust. I'm not comfortable randomly giving away a large amount of trust for just being lucky. At any rate, Matthew would probably only give out that rank to Farcast and myself for hosting the lotto, but we don't think that is fair either. I just don't want the donation part to end up causing conflicts.

I thought about that, too, but I think it'll cause room for complaining. If n4n0 doesn't know at all what a person's number is, he won't "re-shuffle" the randomization until that person's number shows up. I'm not saying he's biased at all, but I don't want this lottery to have accusations of being crooked.

This way, the list of entrants will still be out there, but n4n0 will have no idea what each person's number is. I'll publish the full list later one with the entrant number and who belongs to that number, but it will have to be after N4N0 draws the number.

Farcast and I both agreed that a 1m entry fee was simply too low. 1m is $.70 by most standards these days, so $3.50 for a ticket seems reasonable. Besides, this way you just win even more.

I already have Kero added to MSN, however just saw this thread. Looking forward to buying a ticket. I also added farcast, but he was away. When I can catch either of you online I'll purchase a ticket for sure maybe even two

I am surprised this ended up falling through, judging by how much support it gathered I expected a lot more people to enter. Anyways thanks for the refund.
