I do not see how him asking to use only an OMM is a sign of a scammer. To me, that sounds like a guy who wants a legit trade.

Yes, that alone would be fine, but the refusal to use means OTHER than an official middleman, forces the other user to go first as OMM's are not as frequently seen as opposed to other regular middleman's with 100+ vouches.
