I am a rs oldie (started playing 2003). I recently tried to log on to RSC with all of my accounts, and they all said 'That is not a RS-Classic account' apart from two, which said 'You need a members account to login to this world'. Now I - and I think most people would have done the same - assumed that this meant I had access to RSC. So I went and bought membership, looking forward to the memories playing RSC would bring me. But NO. After I type in my membership PIN, I end up with...

'Unable to login. That is not an RS-Classic account'.

I am EXTREMELY unhappy about this. Can they at least make it clear if I can play or not? I have just wasted $14 AUD on membership and I am almost certain that Jagex will not offer me a refund. What the hell am I supposed to do now? I am certainly not interested in it as a rs2 account, it is a level 3 with just a few skills trained.

Worst of all, I was going to SELL THIS account here at Sythe! If I had sold it before I got membership, I would have been accused of being a scammer!

It appears to me that Jagex are doing this to make money. Every now and then you get a 'You need a members account to logon to this world' and so you go ahead and buy membership, rolling in a few more dollars out of MILLIONS.

*sigh* I miss the days when Jagex were a smaller company and honest with their players.

i think if you have not played in 6 weeks or maybe it's 6 months they delete your rsc acc, I am not sure make a post on the RS forums to learn more.

Yes, but I don't count the months. If it says I can play RS-Classic then I should not have to waste my money just to find out I cannot.

Ouch, Very tough, Yeah it's every 6 months you have to log in.
And Yeah, I was refunded once, but I payed via credit card, and this was when you could write anything to Jagex.. Post in forums for sure though.

This also happend to me about 1 year ago. Flamed Jagex for months about it until they blocked me from sending them messages. It is fucking laaaame.

Yes. If they are too lazy to edit RSC itself, then atleast have some place where you can go to check if you have access? Like, a stats box, but not in-game. You could check all your quests, items, stats (not all are on highscores), etc, without logging in. That would actually be pretty useful.

I was refunded by jagex once. I bought a pin and forgot the number so they just gave me another one. Mind you another time I paid for six months of membership and they banned me a week after I paid for it. No refund, 30$ down the drain.

Jagex made it so that after a certain point, you couldn't start playing Classic if you weren't already playing, even if you were a member in RS2. This is because only a few hundred people ever played Classic and it was taking up (very little) server space...

Rumor has it that Jagex is bringing Classic back, though, if you want to look into that.

All those telling me that RSC is no longer public: I KNOW! I am an original player of classic, I did witness the 6 month update.

Its not if you have logged in within the past six months, its if you logged into classic between August 3rd 2005 to February 3rd 2006, (A six month period, which is where everyone gets the 6 months idea)

Jagex wants everyone to play rs2 now, there doing whatever it takes for RSC to shut down, but they won't shut it down so nobody can ever play it, I just looked on RSC and only 40 people on world 1 and 20 people on world 2 lol, I want to play though

ROFL this child, that has obviously never played RSC, has no clue. I hate hearing shit like this from RS2 players when there used to be heaps of servers all packed with a limit of 2000 players per server, they just shut down almost all of the servers, lowered the limit per server and locked most people out then did a mass ban to get rid of most of the remaining players.

AND - NO, that rumor was started by skullfucked retards ages ago because it gave people a hard-on hearing that. They shut down RSC for a specific reason, they want people to stop playing it, so badly they had to lock accounts out if they aren't on for 6 months so that the community fully dies away.

CleanedOut, it is true that they are THINKING about bringing it back. Mr. 'Mod MMG' himself has answered questions about it on the official forums. Also, they shut it down to stop botting. I don't think they would shut down the game that made them what they are just becuase they could.

You're totally right with most of your points though. I didn't realise what Hui said that 'hardly anybody ever played it'. Lol. Yeah, it was only the original version of RuneScape and the only version for 4 years, with millions of players. I hope that was a typo and you meant nobody plays it anymore, Hui!
