Although I eat meat - and others who do so probably agree with me - that they probably couldn't work in a slaughter house, nor could they work in an area where they can observe animals suffering, no matter how intensely.
Now, those who can work with meat are probably lacking empathy in comparison to those who couldn't.
I agree with Cfrey in that the majority of these videos and said customs are related to the past, but I also feel that they probably do occur in some places today. There are some people who really are carefree when dealing with animals - to them, they really are simply flesh and blood. These people disregard their sentience and ability to feel pain, as they regard them as goods. Nothing more, and nothing less.
