Tension Headache, Be Gone!
Do you use the computer, play video games, or watch television for long periods of time? If so, you probably suffer from frequent tension headaches. Well I'm here to give you some good news. I have been dealing with tension headaches for about 10 years and have some very simple tips to subside or even get rid of a tension headache. The following guide is home based and not guaranteed to help everyone, but in most cases it should help as a relieve the tension causing the headache to go away.
Shower & Massage (Best Done With Help)
Feel a slight headache coming on? Don't let it progress and get worse! When you think a headache is coming the first thing you should do is get a hot bath or shower, once out of the shower you should proceed to a comfortable area such as a chair or your bed, once there either have a family member or partner rub your shoulders, neck, and back for 5-10 minutes. If you do not have a family member or partner present you can try and rub your shoulders, neck, and back yourself.
Hydrate & Consume
Now that you've completed your shower and finished your massage you should be feeling very relaxed. I now suggest you proceed to the kitchen and pour a 8 ounce glass of water (only water not soda) and make a small snack such as crackers. Finish these slowly, no need to rush!
Relax
If you have followed the steps above you should be feeling very relaxed and your headache should be gone or causing very little discomfort. The best thing to do at this point is lay down in your own bed and take a short nap. When you wake up you shouldn't have a headache anymore.
Last Resort
Did you try everything listed and still can't get rid of your headache? This most likely means you do not have a tension headache and are suffering from a migraine or sinus headache. I do not recommend this, but the best thing you can do at this point would be taking some form of medicine. I prefer Motrin, tylenol is very bad and hurts the liver!
