Vacation.
Hey guys, next week I'm going on vacation to Europe. I know vacation should be something fun and enjoyable, but ever since I was a youngster I was full of anxiety. There is so many things going on that I know I should be excited about this opportunity but I'm just too nervous. So here is what I'm worried about.
This vacation is a school trip where only a few kids got selected to go travel to Europe. However, one thing I'm worried about is the flight. With all the things I hear in the media about planes going down and landing in the most random places such as rivers and into other peoples houses, I have that fear that the flight I'm on will end up like that.
The next thing I'm worried about is getting sick while I'm in Europe. I'm from America and Europe is a good 5-6 hours by plane away from my home, I'm worried while I'm over there that I'll get sick or something and not be able to enjoy myself.
So basically, as you can see I'm full of anxiety and worries. If anyone has something that can offer me confidence to make the best out of my trip I would really appreciate it.

Re: Vacation.
Most everyone feels that way when they go on a plane. For instance, my brother is 18 and won't travel on a plane because he's worried about it crashing. If you think of the bright things and how much fun you'll have there, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. So, just try not to think of the negative things, but think about the positive things that'll happen when you're there!

Re: Vacation.
I'm an american boy living in spain. I visit my home (california) every summer + winter and I have never gotten sick or anything. Well, i only do kinda when i go to america because of the really fat food. But tbh in my opinion it's way more comfortable here in Europe (depends where you're going). I think you'll enjoy it. Oh and about the airplanes, don't worry about it. I used to have that fear but it went away. Just talk with your friends etc and enjoy the flight. It will pass really quickly... or just try to sleep. hope this helped

Re: Vacation.
About the planes landing in rivers, etc:
Just think to yourself: How many planes fly each day, across the ocean?
You don't hear planes landing in water everyday, so you'll be safe.

Re: Vacation.
There are so many reasons to not do something.
There are 100x more reasons to do it.
I can understand where your coming from.
But did you know there are 1 million car crashes resulting in DEATH a year?
Guess its not safe to drive then.
Did you know that approx. 45 murders are committed each DAY in America?
Guess we should all stay at home in locked rooms.
My point is look past the negative and think, "I got selected to go to Europe and I'm gonna make the most of it."

Re: Vacation.
Planes are actually one of the safest ways to travel nowadays (With the extra security they have).
Also about your anxiety I can completely relate to that as I've had some issues in the past and the best I can tell you is to NOT think about the future, just think about the present.
Also have you visited the doctors office before your trip to get the annual flu shots they give?

Re: Vacation.
Go to 6Flags before you leave for Europe and get on the biggest rollercoaster
My first ever rollercoaster was the Superman.(I was deathly afraid of heights and falling, yes I saw those movies where the kids escape death from the roller coaster with a vision and then later dies one by one, yes i forgot the name LOL)
It honestly scares you so much that it's not scary anymore AND planes will be nothing compared to it.
Edit; I've been in europe, bosnia more specifically, it was super fun, europe is super fun pretty much.
You won't get sick in Europe, it's not like it's Africa lol. Europe is modern as America is.

Re: Vacation.
more people die every year from donkeys than from plane crashes.
the only difference is the media is all over any and all plane crashes.
they dont care about an old man who gets kicked by a donkey.
(worldwide stats)
as for sickness. your going with your school. they will not be staying in a place wher eyou can get sick drinking the water.
however, dont drink the water when your out walking about. thats just common sense, anywhere.
