Default Literary Arts Section

Some of us have the talent of GFX, but also, some of us have the talent to write poems, short stories, novels, and so on.

I think we should have a section for Literay Arts. Please post "Support" if you agree.

Reasons why we should have literary arts:

1. People can express themself.
2. The joy of reading other peoples work.
3. Can get constructive critism for your work. (Say if its a school project)
4. All out fun.
5. We can have a literary of the month. (Different topics every month)

So please, if you are a fan of literature, or like to read other peoples work, please support.

Thanks,
- Plundy

Full support, lots of people here aren't English either, so Your idea could help them improve their language.

With literary arts, it's almost too easy to plagiarise, and there's absolutely no way of telling if a newcomer's work is his own, apart from hours of trawling through search engines.

It takes only a few minutes to find out if even one sentence of the paper is plagiarized... Its not that hard...

Ontopic.

I do not think it would be greatly used.

For one, I'm not a fan, but if it floats your boat I wouldn't be opposed to it. This kind of reminds me of the music sections rap battles, but then again a lot of plagiarism occurred there too. It's not difficult to Google a sentence of someones work, but there's really no problem because you won't get anything out of writing a short story or poem, just the enjoyment, no gain no loss financially - so plagiarism really isn't a problem in terms of that. I would assume other writers would be angered if one was plagiarizing, but all it takes is a quick search to assure the validity of one's work.

Looking up the first 4 sentences usually find's the work. And, we can have a "must be a new poem" rule so people can't say they posted it there, then copied it to the sythe.

I support this suggestion. At the moment, poems have to be posted in "Lyrics," which doesn't make much sense.

SuF and I are plagiarism cops. You get sort of used to finding it when you're in the UE. If anything, literary plagiarism is the easiest to find.

Consider adding a market part to it where people can buy/sell literary works. IE homework help, etc.

It's not about how many people check it out, but more of people being able to post there work where if people want to see it, or write there own, they can find it easily and check it out.

That probably won't get much action at all.

Agreed, plus, I wouldn't sell any of my work because it is my own, and once I sell it to someone, it becomes theirs.

Rap is poetry. The stuff you think is rap like what Lil Jon or Fat Joe TALK about isn't rap. Rap ryhmes and has a flow. So rap would be considered poetry.

We have a lyric section, courtesy of myself making it happen and ~XS for the idea.

See the music section under off topic

I don't see this going far. I don't think it would be a very active section.
