I find it ridiculous how people are making super long locations to substitute for user titles. It shouldn't be allowed.

How about this? There is no limit on the length of the locations, EXCEPT, you must enter a REAL location. If you enter a fake location you will be infracted and/or banned respectively. It takes care of both problems because fake locations are dumb in the first place and no real location is longer than 20-25 characters. People should use the field for what it was intended to be used for or don't use it at all.

there's no point and/or reason in having your location stretch to your username, gets annoying after a while...

Who cares how many characters are in your location? It's not abuse in any sense and doesn't merit any form of infraction.

Being that anal about things consumes time needlessly.

I haven't really seen anyone causing problems with super-long locations, but I suppose I can see the potential for it.

The former limit was 100 characters, I've reduced it to 40. That should more than enough room, but not so much that people can abuse it.
