Would you guys consider adding a plugin that makes external links hit an extra redirect page?

Giving the user an additional step and more time to decide will sometimes change their mind about visiting the link based on the credibility of the user that posted it. If setup properly with a decent warning message and information about how credible the link poster is it might reduce the number of people that visit the wrong sites and get infected.

Whitelisting the most common external URLs people use like runescape.com / youtube.com / etc would keep link clicking almost as painless as it is today.

A quick search found this plugin but I'm sure there's more of them so you guys would have to look at / evaluate them based on your needs.

Tested on 3.7.x and 3.8.x, may work on older versions as well.

I like this, it would prevent a lot of people from being tricked by hyperlinks.

This is implemented on another forum I use and it works great. "Trusted" sites like YouTube and whatnot aren't required to go through this extra page.

I don't know if this can be implemented, but if it can I support it 100%

This might be very helpful, might even reduce people getting keylogged, java drive-byed, etc. If this can be implemented, I support.

It would be really useful as you could bold and show the URL you are going to before you actually go to it and phishing sites would be easy to spot.

The plugin you linked to was not compatible with our version of vBulletin but I pieced together a few things and got something working.
