Default Requesting Bans

Note: if this breaches the rule "- Showing ban reason for banned members*", then please lock.

I suggest that mods should another ban option. At the moment there is *Banned* and *Temorarily Banned*, so why not add a third one called *Requested Ban*?

It would help when people like Gohsn request a ban. What happened this time was a bunch of people freaking out and asking over and over again in the "Where did _____ go?" thread or perhaps just assuming the worst. If he had *Requested Ban* next to his name, all of these problems would be gone.

It's not a big problem, however it is (what I believe to be) a simple fix.

I am suggesting this since I recently requested a ban and I felt like kind of a hypocrite since right before I was banned I gave advice to someone about a sale, and he perhaps thought I was a scammer so he may not have listened to what I said.

I don't really get it. Why would someone request to be banned?

So no-one can fuck with their sythe account in their absence or while they know they are going inactive or quitting for quite a while. Only ever really see trusted members usually do it as its like an extra piece of mind while they are away.

I did it since I spent a whole sunday on RS general, spam forum, and the market. Usually that would not be a problem, but since I had exams starting the next day, it was.

Yeah, this is a good idea. It would also mean that accounts which are inactive for a while would be much more secure.

i agree and support this

if not a *Requested ban* then put a note somewhere on the account's profile saying something like "scammer" or "vader" or "requested ban due to absence".

it would make it alot easier for the returning account user to clear up any confusion

This would clear up a lot of confusion regarding requested bans. I for one can honestly say that even the staff get left out from time to time when it comes to this kind of thing. Gohan being a prime example. I had to ask around before I finally knew why he had been banned.

Support this.

I support this completely. I came back from being inactive for ~4 months and had to do a lot of researching to find out why some of the people that were active then were banned. A few of them were requested bans so with something such as what you suggested would have saved me some time.

If it is possible to be done then I support fully. Although it is not super can be solved by a few clicks onto a thread to check the reason, it still is much more convenient. Support.

This would be fairly simple to do. All that needs to be done is creating a new user group named Requested Ban or something similar and instead of having the 'Username HTML Markup' say *BANNED* it would say * REQUESTED BAN*.

Support, this would seem to be beneficial if implemented and might even clear up some spam and confusion in the dispute and community general sections.

Would be nice, since people see Gohan as banned, and think he scammed.
So when he returns, people will be hesitant to trade him, considering he was banned.
Etc.

Support.
