Modern Warfare 2 - Destroyed by quickscopers?

Every single game I get into on MW2 has at least 3 talented, quickscopers in it, and I feel that it's completely ruined the game. I don't want to play against someone who can kill me in one hit from any distance. SMG's are supposed to be be suited to close quarters fighting and yet they're still overpowered by a bloody sniper rifle if you encounter a quickscoper in that environment. It's makes the game totally unbalanced and it's totally ruined it for me. Thoughts?

 

The games been out for almost 2 and a half years now, quickscoping is actually encouraged in MW3 funnily enough. I do find it annoying also, I find shotguns (SPAS-12 + AA12) are very useful in close quarters.

 

i dont necessarily agree. quickscoping does take a certain degree of skill. If you can do it awesome, if you cant..sucks for you.

i can totally understand your point of view though, as i have felt the same way before...but it is what it is.

to make the sniper less powerful would just make it way too underpowered

I'll have to disagree, if your put into a close quarters situation, any other gun in the game is better suited (shotgun, machine pistol, assault rifle, smg's, ect..) If they can magage to kill you (whether by luck or accuracy) with there sniper, good on them. A game shouldn't be ruined because people have practiced enough to get good at something.

Finally, there are much bigger problems in mw2 than talented quick scopers, like one man army noob tubes, death streaks, ect..

 

I personally disagree, not only does it take immense skill to make kills in cqb, but they are also putting themselves at a disadvantage by trying it. Although it can devalue the quality of the game due to easy kills i suppose

 

I disagree, players with UMP silenced that play smart are way better than the snipers, they might kill you in one hit, but if they miss....

 

I don't see how it is encouraged personally where there is an insane amount of hitmarkers on MW3.

MW2 has not been ruined, you can still beat quickscopers with a smg or assault rifle any day aslong as it isn't someone like Faze

 

Quick scoping did not destroy MW2 at all. It always existed in the game, but as the number of players started dwindling, the amount of quick scopers became more prominent. People just use it as an excuse for rage quitting.

I think MW2 was not ruined at all, its just the number of people that played it dropped as black ops and MW3 came out, which pretty much only left hackers/quick scopers/etc., which made it hard for casual gamers to enjoy the game.

 

It's not destroying the game, you need to be skilled to be good at quickscoping and I find them quite easy to kill personally.

 

no, i hate people who can't quickscope and bitch about it. Its a skill that freakin rapes

 

Thats generally the amount of people that rant about it.

Either them or the people that say Quickscoping is not realistic.
COD is not a realistic game, it is more an arcade game angled towards having fun.

Play BF3 for realism and stop moaning imo

If someone can quickscope then they deserve to enjoy that advantage. It is a hard skill to learn.

Quickscoping is fine, the game modes can still be played. My problem comes with trickshotting. It ruined Search and Destroy, arguably the best game mode in Modern Warfare 2 to play. At least to me.

With quickscoping, the game is still there, people are just "innovating" from the norm - trickshotting turns it from a game into a contest.

 

I don't think it ruined the game completely but i do think it ruined the search and destroy playlist. When i join into a search game and the rest of my team think they are pros at NS and they all get smacked and leave me alone Vs. the whole other team is really annoying, but i have beat the whole other team a few times but it is still annoying!

 

Quickscoping is really fun. Feels good to kill someone before they can even react.

Yeah thats pretty good especially if its a close quarters situation and you get a multi-kill. You've just bested multiple people with a long range weapon in close range.
